Survivors

We made it through our weekend of swine flu and strep throat...poor Jake had it the worst with high fevers, aches and much fatigue. Little Caleb also caught the flu, but didn't seem to suffer as badly. We've been fever free for more than forty-eight hours now and all are well. It's awful to
This is see my little ones sick!

This is Jake laying on the sofa with his KU blanket watching LOTS of dvd's. His eyes were so dark and sad!

PS - swine flu wasn't the horrible event that the media made it out to be...thankfully no sick stomache, just fever, cough and aches.

We're still on antibiotics and Tamiflu.

Ahhhhh Nature!

We spent Saturday in one of our favorite places: The Great Smoky Mountains!

We hiked around three miles as a family of five (yes, Caleb and Faith got plenty of carrying) to see Grotto Falls. This group of smaller falls were on the way up. The Trillium trail goes through a damp, hemlock forest and actually takes you behind the 25 foot drop...the temperature was cool and scenery beautiful.

And then I learned that too much of nature is not good when we discovered this little friend INSIDE our house! Mike capture what we believe to be a milksnake and took him to a nearby field...so scary I almost cried!

Fisherman!

Jake and Daddy went fishing and Jake caught his FIRST FISH! He was so excited and drew a picture of the event in school the next day - so sweet! Way to go, Jake!
They released the fish back into the Tennessee River...mommy doesn't clean fish!

Ice Cream Truck

This summer the ice cream truck came to our neighborhood for the first time! It is SO exciting to hear the carnival-like music and then run to the stopsign to meet the truck. Jake and Faith keep $1 on their dressers to grab when they hear the sound. Too cute!

And this random moment in the bathtub was too funny to miss.
